Club Cal Neva’s Tournament of Champions Satellite Tournament

May 23, 2014

May 23, 2014 (Reno, Nev.) – CONGRATULATIONS SCOTT MCCOLLUM, JORDAN LINSTROM, AND THE REST OF THE FINAL TABLE!

Scott McCollum got off a plane from Las Vegas after a weekend of fun, and quickly headed over to the Club Cal Neva for the poker room’s Tournament of Champions Satellite tournament.  After seven grueling hours, McCollum learned he would soon be heading back to Vegas for a shot at a $10 million prize this July.

After winning last weekend’s poker tournament McCollum will be competing in the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. Second place tournament winner, Lindstrom will be heading to Millionaire Maker.

McCollum, not only outlasted, but flat-out beat a field of approximately 90 players – and weathering a couple of final table bad beats -  to win a seat in the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event and a chance to win upwards of $10 million.

Club Cal Neva’s Tournament of Champions Satellite Tournament concluded a nine-month long rigorous journey for poker players at the Club Cal Neva as well as invited casino guests. Players spent nine months accumulating points, playing in qualifying free-roll tournaments and earning drawing tickets for a chance at a seat in the qualifying event.

McCollum wasn’t the only winner of the evening, Jordan Lindstrom, of Reno faced what seemed like insurmountable odds at the final table. Despite the desperate odds, Lindstrom won a series of “All-Ins” to stay alive and eventually capture second place. Second place earned Lindstrom a seat in one of the first World Series of Poker events: the Millionaire Maker event which starts on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Las Vegas.

Finishing in third place was Derek Louie of Santa Clara, Calif. Louie spent the day accumulating chips and playing solid poker on his way to a $500 third place prize.

Club Cal Neva congratulates all of those who qualified for the Club Cal Neva’s Inaugural Tournament of Champions Tournament. Please keep your eyes open as the Club Cal Neva plans to announce the format and start dates for the 2nd Annual Tournament of Champions series for 2014-2015.

And congratulations and good luck to tournament winners McCollum and Lindstrom as they attempt to make us proud and themselves rich at the 2014 World Series of Poker.
